EWRFC Green go for the win at Sarsfield RFC The Lynch Cup

In a landmark moment for inclusive sport, the Emerald Warriors Rugby Football Club’s Green team clinched a well-deserved victory at the inaugural Lynch Cup, held on Saturday 16 August 2025 at Tom Clifford Park (home of Young Munster RFC) in Limerick. The tournament was organised by Sarsfields Rugby in memory of their founding member, the late Sarah Lynch, and marked the first-ever event combining both contact and mixed-tag teams from inclusive rugby clubs.
A First for Inclusive Rugby
The Lynch Cup was much more than a competition. It represented the Sarsfields Rugby RFC’s commitment to inclusive rugby and to preserving Sarah Lynch’s legacy of openness and community-building. The event welcomed teams from across Ireland in both tag and full-contact formats.
